Gasanteil an elektrisch geheizten Drähten, z.

Device for measuring the combustible content in gases, in particular flue gases, by means of catalytic combustion on electrically heated wires.
In order to measure the combustible fraction in gases, devices are known in which this
Gas content of electrically heated wires, e.g. B. made of platinum. catalytically burned and the increase in resistance of the platinum wires as a result of the increase in temperature is determined as a measure of the combustible content of the gas. Such devices result in disruptions in that the water vapor produced by the combustion condenses in the measuring device and adversely affects the measuring results due to the encapsulation of the parts insulating the heating wires. Most known
Means for eliminating this deficiency naturally fail in the case of swirling gas movement, since the burned gases sometimes also receive irregular movements with the water vapor.
According to the invention, the water vapor is kept away from the insulating parts in that they are not placed in the gas flow, but in a space separated from the combustion chamber by a wall and dead for the gas flow.
The drawing shows in longitudinal section an exemplary embodiment of the subject matter of the invention.
In a housing 1, a wall 2 separates the two spaces: J and 4, of which the first is the combustion space through which the gases flow, the second the comparison space.
At the ends of the housing 1 head plates 5 and 6 are z. B. screwed in, the over insulating parts 7, 7 the power supply parts 8, 9 for the heating wires 10! 0 0 wear. The plate 6 has a longer tubular extension 6 a with a thread 12. the housing 1 has an inflow opening 14 and an outflow opening 15, the opening 14 serving for the entry of the combustion gases and another inflow opening 16 for the entry of oxygen or hydrogen. The approach 6a is set off at 17, with a plate 18 with recesses 20, z. B. is fastened by screws 19. to allow the power supply parts 8. 8 to pass.
An annular channel 21 of the extension 6a is closed off by the wall of the housing 1. Both the combustion gas and the oxygen can flow out of this ring channel through bores:! 2. 22 enter a chamber 23 in which the two gases experience an intimate mixing. The conclusion of the chamber 23 against the combustion chamber 3 forms a plate 25 which, for. B. by screws:! 6 is attached to the approach 6 a. The gas mixture can enter the combustion chamber 3 through recesses 27 in the plate 25. Two of these recesses are preferably widened for the passage of the current-carrying parts into the combustion chamber.
One of the power supply lines is preferably bent in the interior of the combustion chamber in an S-shape and at one end carries a resilient, tensioned part 29 (e.g. a leaf spring), between the other end and the end of the other power supply part the platinum wire or the like is clamped is.
The advantage of the subject matter of the invention is that the residues, u. between the water vapor that is generated during combustion, the insulating parts of the power supply no longer

Remaining steam parts, which at most reach the mixing chamber 23 by a flow directed against the arrow p1 of the gas flow, must be deposited on the plate M. The space z between the plate 6 and the plate 18 is therefore a dead space, independent of the means, for both the gas flow and the water vapor.
Rooms s and 2-3 can also be connected in series several times, in which case at least
