Description
<Desc/Clms Page number 1>
EMI1.1
<Desc/Clms Page number 2>

The anodes 7 and 8 of the systems 2 and 3 are connected to one another by a bridge 9 - advantageously made of magnesium, for example from a piece of magnesium tape - in such a way that the anode 7 with the holder 10, the anode 8 with the holder 11 in conductive Connection establishes, while the metal band 9 is arranged between the holder 10 and 11. This metal band has a circular hole 12, which can be easily produced by punching, so that the metal can be interrupted in the metal ends 13 and 14.
A piece of mica 15 is arranged like an umbrella between the metal strip 9 on the one hand and the three electrode systems 2, 3 and 4 on the other.
During the degassing of the anodes, the connection of the anodes 2 and 3 to one another is useful; however, if it is to be separated again after the tube has been completed, an alternating current-carrying coil is placed around the tube. After a short exposure time to the high-frequency currents, the metal strip 9 is interrupted at points 13 and 14. In contrast to other interruption options, atomization of the magnesium has the particular advantage that it does not deteriorate the tube, on the contrary, the vacuum is even improved.
The shield 15 ensures that when the magnesium is atomized, no metallic deposits occur on the electrode carriers made of insulating material.
The invention is not restricted to the production of interruptions in conductive connections themselves. Under certain circumstances, it can be useful to remove non-conductors that are present at one point in a vacuum vessel. This can also be done by the invention, for example in such a way that the non-conductor in question is initially fixed by metallic holders, such as magnesium strips, while it is subsequently released by eddy current evaporation.
