Abstract

Métodos y sistemas para recuperar almidón antes de la fermentación en un proceso de molienda en seco y/o en un proceso de molienda húmeda. Además, está la posibilidad de purificar el almidón. El almidón se puede utilizar como materia prima para usos biotecnológicos, tales como elaborar uno o más tipos de butanoles. El método está en condiciones de recuperar almidón del endospermo harinoso y córneo. En algunas formas de realización, el método incluye la licuefacción del maíz molido y separar, purificar y recuperar el almidón de ambos endospermos, harinoso y córneo, antes de la fermentación. En algunas formas de realización, el método incluye someter a la harina de maíz molido a una condición cáustica y a continuación recuperar el almidón antes de la fermentación. En algunas formas de realización, el método incluye remojar/macerar el maíz, moler el maíz y separar el germen del almidón en una condición similar a un molino húmedo antes de la fermentación.
