Abstract

Reivindicación 25: Un método de preparación de un extracto acuoso de algas marinas en la forma de un concentrado en solución, caracterizado porque dicho método comprende: (a) extraer un alga marina para proporcionar un extracto de algas marinas que comprende alginato en una cantidad de por lo menos un 0,5% p/p de la composición concentrada; (b) combinar el extracto con una fuente de calcio en la presencia de un agente quelante de calcio y un compuesto de borato para proporcionar menos de un 0,1% p/p de calcio y así proporcionar una composición de acuerdo con cualquiera de las reivindicaciones previas. Claim 17: An aqueous seaweed extract according to claim 16, characterized in that the plant protective agent is a biological plant protective agent selected from the group consisting of Bacillus thuringiensis; Bacillus firmus; the proteins, spores and toxins of at least one between Bacillus thuringiensis and Bacillus firmus; baculovirus; and endophytes. Claim 19: An aqueous seaweed extract according to any of the previous claims, characterized in that it comprises the glucono-d-lactone chelating agent (GDL) and wherein the weight ratio of GDL to the calcium ion is at least 2, preferably at least 2.4. Claim 22: An aqueous extract of seaweed according to any of the previous claims, characterized in that the composition further comprises one or more phosphorus compounds. Claim 25: A method of preparing an aqueous extract of seaweed in the form of a concentrated solution, characterized in that said method comprises: (a) extracting a seaweed to provide a seaweed extract comprising alginate in an amount of at least 0.5% w / w of the concentrated composition; (b) combining the extract with a calcium source in the presence of a calcium chelating agent and a borate compound to provide less than 0.1% w / w calcium and thus provide a composition according to any of the previous claims. Claim 28: A method for improving plant growth, characterized in that it comprises: (a) providing a concentrated composition of a liquid seaweed extract according to any one of claims 1 to 22; (b) optionally diluting the concentrated seaweed extract composition; and (c) apply the liquid seaweed extract to the plants or to the locus of the plants before, during or after planting in an amount that will allow to provide one or more benefits selected from the group consisting of improvements in the vigor of the plants , plant growth improvements, a reduction of plant stress and soil improvements.
