Abstract
Se proporciona un proceso para incrementar la fuerza de fusión de una resina de polietileno, que comprende lo siguiente: a) seleccionar una resina de polietileno que tenga: i) una densidad, determinada de acuerdo con ASTM D792, en el rango de 0,865 g/cm³ hasta 0,97 g/cm³ y ii) un índice de fusión, I₂, determinado de acuerdo con ASTM D1238 (2,16 kg, 190ºC), en el rango de 0,01 g/10 min hasta 100 g/10 min; b) reaccionar de 10 ppm hasta 1000 ppm de al menos un peróxido que tenga una temperatura de descomposición de vida media de 1 hora de 160ºC hasta 250ºC con la resina de polietileno bajo condiciones suficientes como para incrementar la fuerza de fusión de la resina de polietileno. También se proporciona una composición de mezcla básica y una composición polimérica.
