Abstract
Se describen composiciones y métodos relacionados con hongos filamentosos variantes que tienen características de crecimiento alteradas. Dichas variantes son bien adecuadas para el crecimiento en cultivos sumergidos, por ej., para la producción a gran escala de enzimas y otras proteínas para aplicaciones comerciales.Reivindicación 1: Una cepa variante de hongo filamentoso derivada de una cepa parental, comprendiendo la cepa variante una alteración genética que hace que las células de la cepa variante produzcan una cantidad alterada de proteína Mpg1 funcional en comparación con células de la cepa parental, donde las células de la cepa variante producen durante la fermentación aeróbica en cultivo sumergido un caldo celular que (i) requiere una cantidad alterada de agitación para mantener un contenido preseleccionado de oxígeno disuelto en comparación con las células de la cepa parental, y/o (ii) mantiene un contenido de oxígeno disuelto alterado en una cantidad preseleccionada de agitación, en comparación con las células de la cepa parental.
