Abstract

Un método para la produccion fermentativa de 1,3-propanodiol a partir de glicerol que comprende el cultivo de microorganismos inmovilizados en un medio de cultivo con alto contenido de glicerina, en donde el microorganismo es una especie de Clostridium, modificado para una mejora de la produccion de 1,3-propanodiol. En el procedimiento el reactor se llena con material de soporte inerte sobre el cual se forma una biopelícula que inmoviliza los microorganismos y los protege de altas concentraciones de glicerol y de los productos de fermentacion.A method for the fermentative production of 1,3-propanediol from glycerol comprising the cultivation of immobilized microorganisms in a culture medium with high glycerin content, wherein the microorganism is a species of Clostridium, modified for an improvement of the 1,3-propanediol production. In the process, the reactor is filled with inert support material on which a biofilm is formed that immobilizes microorganisms and protects them from high concentrations of glycerol and fermentation products.
