Abstract

Los beneficios del método modificado de recuperacion in situ incluyen menores costos y un impacto ambiental reducido.A modified method of recovering hydrocarbon in situ from an underground formation containing hydrocarbons is provided. A vertical combustion is generated that sweeps outwardly and laterally into the formation above the horizontal section, from the heel to the tip of the horizontal section, causing the hydrocarbons in the formation above the horizontal section to improve and they are liquefied, and from then on they drain downwards towards the interior of the horizontal section which is permeable, where said liquefied hydrocarbons are then sent to the surface through the production pipe. A non-oxidizing gas is injected into the heel part of the horizontal section through the injection pipe contained within the vertical section of the production well. The benefits of the modified on-site recovery method include lower costs and a reduced environmental impact.
