Abstract
Un reactor de gasificacion a pequena escala para procesar residuos orgánicos por lotes, que comprende un reactor de gasificacion primario que incluye una cámara de gasificacion primaria y una cámara de combustion circundante, una cámara de gasificacion secundaria, una unidad de descontaminacion de gas de síntesis y un selector de selector de gas combustible. Los residuos se cargan en la cámara de gasificacion primaria a través de una abertura que puede trabarse en la parte superior del reactor de gasificacion primario, y se calientan merced a la combustion de un combustible en la cámara de combustion, para convertir los residuos en un gas de síntesis crudo. La cámara de gasificacion tiene una admision de aire para introducir aire de procesamiento precalentado en ella y un puerto efluente para la salida del gas de síntesis. El aire de procesamiento se precalienta usando el efluente de combustion caliente, empleando un intercambiador de calor localizado entre la cámara de gasificacion primaria y la cámara de combustion. La cámara de combustion tiene una admision de gas para recibir un fluido combustible, quemadores adaptados para operar con el fluido combustible o el gas de síntesis producido, y una chimenea para la salida de un gas efluente de combustion. Además, en la cámara de gasificacion secundaria se realiza el tratamiento térmico del gas de síntesis crudo para eliminar cualquier alquitrán. La cámara de gasificacion secundaria está conectada con la unidad de descontaminacion de gas de síntesis, que elimina los contaminantes del gas de síntesis, incluyendo particulados y gases ácidos. El gas de síntesis limpio se dirige al selector de gas combustible, que introduce selectivamente el fluido combustible o el gas de síntesis en el quemador. En el proceso, los residuos se cargan en la cámara de gasificacion primaria en lotes no procesados con anterioridad, donde se calientan en la cámara de combustion usando un fluido combustible convencional. Los residuos sufren una descomposicion térmica para formar un gas de síntesis crudo, que se somete a un calentamiento adicional en la cámara de gasificacion secundaria para eliminar los alquitranes y se decontamina en la unidad de descontaminacion de gas de síntesis. Después, el gas de síntesis limpio se usa para reemplazar el fluido combustible convencional como fuente de calor del proceso. El sistema es muy pequeno, permite procesar lotes de aproximadamente 40 kg de residuos en aproximadamente 2 horas, y está disenado para usar en comunidades que generan aproximadamente 500 kg de residuos por día.
