Abstract

Para facilitar la investigacion legal, empresas tales como Thomson West, ofrecen servicios arancelados de recuperacion de informacion en línea. Procurando mejorar estos y otros sistemas de recuperacion de la informacion relacionados, los presentes inventores han advertido que los investigadores pasan por alto ciertos tipos de documentos, como enciclopedias y tratados legales que les podrían resultar utiles. Por consiguiente, los presentes inventores han inventado sistemas, métodos y software que buscan automáticamente otros tipos de documentos que no fueron incluidos en la busqueda específicamente por el usuario. Un sistema ejemplificativo, envía automáticamente la consulta del usuario sobre sentencias a una primera y segunda base de datos, en la primera se almacenan sentencias y en la segunda documentos de otra índole, como por ejemplo, los resumenes introductorios del sistema West Key Number, artículos tomados de American Law Reports y de American Jurisprudence.
