Abstract
Un método para determinar la predisposición de un individuo a una condición de piel que comprende identificar los alelos de profilagrina presentes en el genoma de una muestra ex vivo tomada del individuo. Las condiciones de la piel incluyen la capacidad de un individuo de producir Factores Humectantes Naturales (FHN), piel seca y/o predisposición a eritema inducido por detergente. Típicamente, los alelos de profilagrina se identifican determinando la cantidad de repeticiones de filagrina codificada. En una forma de realización preferida, la identificación de alelos se realiza usando PCR. Un sistema para determinar la predisposición de un individuo a una condición de la piel que comprende medios para identificar los alelos de profilagrina presentes en el genoma de una muestra tomada del individuo. Uso de un polipéptido que comprende la secuencia de un alelo de profilagrina, o una de sus variantes o fragmentos o un polinucléotido que codifica cualquiera de éstos en la fabricación de una composición para tratar a un individuo con una condición de piel. Un polinucléotido que comprende la secuencia 5'GGA TGA AGC CTA TGA CACCAC 3' ó 5' GA CAG GAA AAG ATA ACT TCC C 3', y su uso para determinar la predisposición de un individuo a una condición de piel. Un método para identificar productos para el cuidado personal adecuados para el uso por un individuo que comprende la identificación del genotipo de profilagrina de un individuo y la selección de productos para el cuidado personal reconocidamente adecuados para usar con el genotipo de profilagrina así determinado. Estos métodos son particularmente útiles para agrupar individuos para los fines de participación en pruebas clínicas o para determinar si una preparación cosmética es adecuada para un individuo.
