Abstract

Los compuestos derivados de nonoato donantes de oxido nítrico (NO) y las composiciones farmacéuticas que los contienen, se utilizan para administrar NOen la superficie apical de la mucosa, donde el NO se libera y extiende por el monoestrato epitelial de la membrana de la misma. Los compuestos donantes de NOincluyen tanto los de polialquilenamina como los aminoalifáticos terciarios y cuaternarios. Estos compuestos y las composiciones que las contienen son utilesen cualquier situacion en que se desee administrar NO por una superficie de mucosa. Por ejemplo, son particularmente utiles para tratar la hipertensionpulmonar, la impotencia masculina y varias otras condiciones específicas. Compuestos derivados de nonoatos donantes de oxido nítrico seleccionado delgrupo que consta de:formulas de (I) a (VI)o una sal de los mismos, donde X y X se seleccionan independientemente del grupo que consta de: -C(:O)-, -OC(:O)-,-(O:)CO, -NC(:O)-, -C(:O)N-, O y alquenileno y H; Y se selecciona del grupo que consta de alquilo y alquilo sustituido; Z se selecciona del grupo que consta de-NH- y alquileno; R1, R2, R3, R1, R2 y R3 son independientemente alquilo; y n es un entero de 2 a 6. El método para la dilatacion local de los vasossanguíneos de mamíferos comprende administrar el compuesto derivado de nonoato donante de oxido nítrico no polimérico a un sitio específico de lasuperficie apical de una mucosa del mamífero y el método para matar o inactivar bacteria en la boca de un mamífero consiste en la administracion delos compuestos derivados del nonoato donantes de oxido nítrico a la superficie apical de una mucosa de la boca de dicho mamífero en una cantidad efectiva.
