Abstract

Un polipéptido de sintasa isoprenoide quimérica que está seleccionado del grupo que consiste de: (a) un polipéptido de sintasa isoprenoide quimérica queincluye un dominio de una primer sintasa isoprenoide unido a un dominio de una segunda sintasaisoprenoide diferente, con lo cual el polipéptido de sintasaisoprenoide quimérica es capaz de catalizar la producción de un producto de reacción isoprenoide que no es producido en la ausencia del dominio de lasegunda sintasa isoprenoidediferente , en donde:(i) la primer sintasa isoprenoide cataliza la producción de un producto de reacción isoprenoide de laprimer sintasa isoprenoide, pero no cataliza la producción de un producto de reacción isoprenoide de la segundasintasa isopr enoide diferente; (ii) lasegunda sintasa isoprenoide cataliza la producción de un producto de reacción isoprenoide de la segunda sintasa isoprenoide diferente, pero no cataliza laproducción de un producto de reacción isoprenoide dela sintasa isopr enoide; (iii) el dominio de la primer sintasa isoprenoide ocupa una primer posición enel polipéptido de sintasa isoprenoide quimérica, la primer posición en el polipéptido de sintasa isoprenoide quimérica corresponde a unaposición en laprim er sintasa isoprenoide ocupada por el dominio de la primer sintasa isoprenoide; y (iv) el dominio de la segunda sintasa isoprenoide diferenteocupa una segunda posición en el polipéptido de sintasa isoprenoide quimérica,la segunda posición en dicho polipéptido de sintasa isoprenoide quiméricacorresponde a una posición en la segunda sintasa isoprenoide diferente ocupada por el dominio de la segunda sintasa isoprenoide diferente; y (b) unpolipéptido de sintasaisoprenoide quimérica que incluye un dominio homólogo asimétricamente posicionado, con lo cual el polipéptido de sintasa isoprenoide
