Description

DESCRIPTION
FUNCTIONAL INTERMEDIATE SUPPORT PART USED AMONG THE LEGS THAT BELONG
TO PASSENGER SEATS IN AIRPLANES
Technical Field
The invention relates to a structural improvement applied on passenger seats in airplanes used in air transportation.
The invention particularly relates to an intermediate support part that connects seat binding grooves on the airframe with the seat frame, and connects legs to each other by getting fixed between the parts called as seat legs, and does the force transmission and force damping task along with this connection.
Background Art
In present applications, passenger seats are used in airplanes for providing a comfortable flight in air transportation. Parts named as seat legs are used for connecting the seat binding grooves on the airframe with the seat frame. There are profile form intermediate parts that similarly provide the connection between present seat legs (front and rear leg). However, these parts bind the front and rear leg only in terms of form. Generally, this intermediate part is not used in seat tests for transferring or damping the force. In a patent searching, there has been no patent application found that discloses the use of support profile according to the invention, yet the utility model application numbered 2009/06211 that is registered in the TPE record discloses a driver seat comprising a backrest and sitting sheets on which resistance enhancing gaps have been formed. The European Patent Application numbered EP1274601 B1 relates to a seat upholstery made of leather for vehicle and airplane seats.
The Object of the Invention The present invention particularly relates to an intermediate support part that connects seat binding grooves on the airframe with the seat frame, and connects legs to each other by getting fixed between the parts called as seat legs, and does the force transmission and force damping task along with this connection, which all in all meets the above-mentioned requirements, removes all the disadvantages and brings some additional advantages.
Thanks to the intermediate support part according to the invention it is provided that both front and rear legs are connected to each other and the force to be exposed on the seat legs is transferred to other leg, and in addition to this allows functioning as an arch by way the bevel of its geometry. Through this feature, some of the force exposed on the seat is damped and overall strength of the seat is improved. In order to carry out seat tests, it is required to enlarge structural section or increase wall thickness for enhancing the strength of the seat. Since the weight of the seat is of vital importance, this solution means improving the strength of the seat without increasing its weight. Furthermore, a part that only provides a connection in terms of form is now converted into a functional part.
In order to reach said objects; it is developed for passenger seats used in airplanes including a front leg that is connected to the binding groove on the airframe by means of connecting groove adapter, and a rear leg connected to the binding groove by way of a binding groove adapter, wherein; it comprises an intermediate support part with a curvilinear structure that provides the binding between the legs by being fixed between front and rear legs, and takes the task of force transmission and force damping.
According to a preferred embodiment of the invention, the intermediate support part that is attached between front and rear legs has an arch-like form.
Figures that Shall Assist in Understanding the Invention
Figure 1 is the assembled perspective view of the intermediate support part that connects the seat legs in terms of form and function.
By all manner of means, the drawings must not be scaled and the details that are not necessary to figure out the present invention may have been ignored. Apart from this, the components that are at least substantially identical and that have substantially identical functions are shown via same numbers.

The invention relates to an intermediate support part (3) that connects seat binding grooves on the airframe with the seat frame, and connects legs to each other by getting fixed between the parts called as seat legs (1 , 2), and does the force transmission and force damping task along with this connection between the legs (1 , 2).
The front leg (1) takes the task of connecting the front part of the seat framing to the groove on the airframe. The rear leg (2) takes the task of connecting the rear part of the seat framing to the groove on the airframe. The top of the binding groove on the airframe is covered by a binding groove cover sheet (4) and it is prevented that nothing enters into the groove. The front leg (1) is connected to the binding groove via a front leg binding groove adapter (5). The rear leg (2) is connected to the binding groove via a rear leg binding groove adapter (6).
The front leg (1), rear leg (2), binding groove cover sheet (4), front and rear leg binding groove adapters (5, 6) are the parts already used in the present art. The intermediate support part (3) according to the invention both connects the front and rear leg (1 , 2) in terms of form and provides the transmission of force arising vertically or horizontally, and also takes the task of force damping. In 9g or 14g tests of airplane seats, an inertial force occurs due to the weight of the passenger and seat. Said force causes horizontal and vertical forces to occur on seat legs (1 , 2). As the vertical force occurring on the rear leg (2) is very strong, it strains the intermediate support part (3) to bend horizontally. Due to bending moment, the intermediate support part (3) makes deformation on vertical direction. Due to its geometry and connection points, the intermediate support part (3) has its role in the design that acts against the exposed force on itself. The intermediate support part (3) comprises an arch-like curvilinear structure, and does the task of transmitting and also damping the forces exposed thereon. Differing from present art, it provides functionality along with the connection between front and rear legs (1 , 2) in terms of form. Alternatively, the section of the intermediate support part (3) can be replaced and so a lightening or an increase in the strength can be provided. Moreover, the leg connection points can be changed and its position can be optimized.
