Abstract

La presente invención se refiere a un método para preparación de partículas nanométricas de hidróxido de magnesio, teniendo un diámetro promedio de entre 90 y 110 nm, pudiendo estar en un rango de 20 a 160 nm, con características de monodispersión y estabilidades superiores a 12 meses y en un amplio rango de concentraciones. El proceso consta de 3 etapas: una etapa de reacción realizada en 2 pasos, una de maduración y una de purificación. El primer paso de la reacción se realiza en una zona de micromezclado, y el segundo paso es de estabilización de la suspensión. En la segunda etapa, se establece la maduración de las partículas mediante un tratamiento químico-mecánico. La última etapa está diseñada para purificar y concentrar el material, así como la preparación del mismo para integrarse al medio deseado. Las partículas obtenidas son redispersables en diferentes medios, tales como agua, resinas alquidáliσas, fenólicas, nitrocelulosa, poliuretano, vinílicas, acrílicas, alcoholes, y en una amplia variedad de materiales orgánicos y polímeros tales como polietileno de alta y baja densidad, Nylon, ABS y/o mezclas de los mismos.
