HANDLE FUR SPOUNS UR SlMILARARTlCLES.
(Application filed Feb. 18, 1902.
WIT NESSE 5: 9/476 INVE OR I M JITTORNEYS.
UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
HENRY H. BURDICK, OF SYRACUSE, NEW YORK.
DESIGN FOR A HANDLE FOR SPOONS OR SIMILAR ARTICLES.
5 New York, have invented and produced a new and original Design for Handles for Spoons or Similar Articles, of which the following is a clear and exact specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, in
to which- Figure 1 shows the obverse side of the handle, and Fig. 2 the reverse side, these two views being sufficient to illustrate my design, no claim being made upon anything except the IS handle, which, of course, can be used upon knives, forks, or similar articles.
As shown in the drawings, the leading or material feature of my design consists in a handle for spoons, forks, or similar articles :0 representing the general appearance of a lady student clad in the classical garb of a toga, the lower portion of which is wrapped in folds about the form of the figure. One of the arms of said form hangs down at the side, while the other extends transversely of the body and supports a pennant. About the head are long flowing locks, and upon the head is a classical cap supporting a tassel, the whole forming a unique unitary article of manufacture.
In the drawings, a represents the body clothed in a tunic, and a are the folds of said tunic wrapped around the lower extremities of said form and forms the shank c of the handle.
61 is the cap, and d the tassel, and e is the pennant.
Having thus fully described my invention, what I claim, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is
The design for a handle for spoons, or similar articles, as herein described and shown.
In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand this 13th day of February, 1902.
HENRY I-I. BURDIOK.
