DESIGN FOR A PLATE OR SIMILAR ARTICLE.

SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 33,416, dated ocater- 23, 1906;

To all whom t'tmcty concern:

Be it known that I, ADDISON NORMAN, residing in Davisville,'in the county of York and Province of Ontario, Canada, have invented and produced a new and original Design for Plates or Similar Articles of Manufacture, of which the following is a specification.

My design has for its object the ornamentation of plates and similar articles of manufacture.

In the accompanying drawings, Figure l is a top plan view of a plate ornamented with my design, and Fig. 2 is an elevation of the same.

The characteristic feature of my design is an ornamental border arranged near the edge of the plate and made up of a series of the conventional figure known as the fylfot or swastika. These figures are arranged be- Application filed July '7, 1900. Serial No. 22,885. Term of patent 7 yearstween parallel lines or bands which constitute part of the ornamental border.

In the center of the plate is a fylfot figure surrounded by a line or narrow band. This central figure is larger than the individual fylfot figures in the border.

By the term similar articles of manufacture as used in this case I mean dishes to which the design may be applied, such as the dishes of a dinner set, of which the plate repo resented in the drawings is a single member.
