SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 260,001, dated June 27, 1882.

Application filed March 25, 1882. (No model.)

To all whom tt may concern:

Be it known that we, WILLIAM H. BURDEN and FREDERICK C. BURDEN, of Cleveland, in the county of Cuyahoga and State of Ohio, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Fire-Escapes; andwe do hereby declare that the following is a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, which will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same, .reference being had to the accompanying drawings, which form apart of this specification.

This invention has for its object to provide a simple, inexpensive, convenient, easily operated, and efticient tire-escape.

To this end it consists in certain improvements in the construction and arrangement of parts, substantially as will be hereinafter more fully described, and particularly pointed out in the claim. v
