DRAWERS 0R TIGHTS.
, SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 256,532, dated April s, 1882.
Application filed July 22, 1881. (No model.)
To all whom ii. may concern Beit known that I, ROBERT M. In the drmvings, A represents the upper part of my improved drawers or lights, which are made from the cloth band a down to the hnee'joint, where they are made narrower, e"
-t nek-stiteh knitting. The part I from the lower part of he thigh to the upper pat-tot the 'cnlf', around the knee-joint is made of plainstitch knitting, and the wi. at part, designed for the calf 0, made again of tuck-stitch knitting, below which, again, a. narrower part, I), of plain-stitch knitting is arranged.
The lower edge of each leg is finished by the rib ed band nowie general use. In lights the ribbed band is dispensed with and th narrow portion 1) continued in plain stitch, from which part the foot is formed. By this process tights with seamless legs are obtaine which fit more easily and comfortably tothfi. legs. The appearance of the drawersor tights may be improved by slightly varying the pattern of the tuck-stitches; which is accomplished without difficulty in the usual Wellhnown manner on the cireularlmitting looms in general use for this class of goods.
