Abstract

A telescoping foldable chair having a skeleton having a pair of lower leg frames of U shape each having a pair of outer legs connected with a ground bar, a pair of upper leg frames of inverted U shape each having a pair of inner legs connected with a top cross bar respectively slidable contained in one of the outer legs, a front and a rear sets each having a pair of inner tubes respectively pivotally linked to the top cross bars, a pair of outer tubes respectively pivotally linked to one lower end of the outer leg frames, and a central link which pivotally connects free ends of the inner and outer tubes, and, a sitting cloth attached on the skeleton. The telescoping foldable chair has a strong structure yet small folded volume.

Description

    BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
  • 1. Field of the Invention
  • The invention relates to a telescoping foldable chair, and more particularly, to a foldable chair which has a strong structure and small folded volume.
  • 2. Description of the Prior Art
  • Shown in FIGS. 4 and 5 is a conventional foldable chair 9. The foldable chair 9 has a skeleton 91, a sitting cloth 92 attached thereto, and a back cloth 93 attached thereto. The foldable chair 9 has a plurality of linking poles 94 which is used to make the non-telescoping bars of the skeleton 91 foldable with respect to each other. This foldable chair 9 has some drawbacks: a volume of the foldable chair is large and a operation of folding and expanding may be dangerous since the linking poles 94 may nip fingers of a user. A smaller folded volume of foldable chair is favorite. But a smaller volume usually means less structure tubes of chair skeleton. Therefore, a foldable chair having relatively more constructive skeleton tubes thus stronger structure is needed in the market.
  • BRIEF SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
  • The main object of the invention is to provide a telescoping foldable chair having a strong structure yet small folded volume.
  • In order to obtain above object, the invention provides a telescoping foldable chair having a skeleton having a pair of lower leg frames of U shape each having a pair of outer legs connected with a ground bar, a pair of upper leg frames of inverted U shape each having a pair of inner legs connected with a top cross bar respectively slidable contained in one of the outer legs, a front set having a pair of inner tubes respectively pivotally linked to the top cross bars, a pair of outer tubes respectively pivotally linked to one lower end of the outer leg frames, and a front central link which pivotally connects free ends of the inner and outer tubes, and a rear set having a pair of inner tubes respectively pivotally linked to the top cross bars, a pair of outer tubes respectively pivotally linked to one lower end of the outer leg frame, and a rear central link which pivotally connects free ends of the inner and outer tubes; and, a sitting cloth attached on the skeleton.
  • These and other objectives, features, and advantages of the present invention will become apparent from the following detailed description, the accompanying drawings, and the appended claims.
  • BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
  • FIG. 1 is a perspective view of the preferred embodiment of the telescoping foldable chair of the invention.
  • FIG. 2 is a perspective view of a skeleton of the chair shown in FIG. 1 showing a process of folding of the chair.
  • FIG. 3 is a perspective view of the skeleton of the chair shown in FIG. 1 showing a folded chair of the invention.
  • FIG. 4 is a perspective view of a conventional foldable chair. And,
  • FIG. 5 is a perspective view of the conventional foldable chair shown in FIG. 4 with a cloth thereof removed.
  • DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT
  • As shown in FIG. 1, a preferred embodiment of a telescoping foldable chair 1 of the invention has a skeleton 10, a soft yet strong sitting cloth 20 attached on the skeleton 10, and a soft yet strong back cloth 30 attached on the skeleton 10.
  • The skeleton 10 has a pair of lower leg frames 11, 11′ of U shape and each having a pair of outer legs 110, 110′ connected with a ground bar 111, 111′, a pair of upper leg frames 12, 12′ of inverted U shape and each having a pair of inner legs 120, 120′ connected with a top cross bar 121, 121′ and respectively slidably contained in an outer leg 110, 110′, a pair of arm frames 13, 13′ rotatably and respectively linked to the upper leg frames 12, 12′ with a pair of pins 122, a pair of back frames 14, 14′ rotatably and respectively linked to the arm frames 13, 13′. The back cloth 30 is attached to the pair of back frames 14, 14′ of the skeleton 10.
  • The pair of lower leg frames 11, 11′ and upper leg frames 12, 12′ are pivotally linked by a front set 15 and a rear set 16. The front set 15 has a pair of inner tubes 151, 151′ which are respectively pivotally linked to the top cross bars 121, 121′, a pair of outer tubes 152, 152′ which are respectively pivotally linked to a lower end of the outer leg frames 110, 110′. Free ends of the inner and outer tubes 151, 151′, 152, 152′ are pivotally connected to a front central link 153.
  • The rear set 16 has a pair of inner tubes 161, 161′ which are respectively pivotally linked to the top cross bars 121, 121′, a pair of outer tubes 162, 162′ which are respectively pivotally linked to a lower end of the leg frames 110, 110′. Free ends of the inner and outer tubes 161, 161′, 162, 162′ are pivotally connected to a rear central link 163.
  • With reference to FIG. 2, a process of using the telescoping foldable chair of the invention is shown. For better understand of operation, the sitting cloth 20 and the back cloth 30 are removed from the figure. In use, a user is able to rotate the back frames 14, 14′ down in direction A towards the arm frames 13, 13′ and then step on one of the ground bars 111 or 111′ with one foot and hold one of the arm frames 13 or 13′ with one hand and then pull the arm frame 13 or 13′ thus one of the upper leg frames 12 or 12′ connected thereto upward on the contrary to direction B. The inner tubes 151 or 151′ pivotally linked to the top cross bar 121 or 121′ moves upward accordingly. At the same time, the pair of lower leg frames 11, 11′ go towards each other until they meet, as show in FIG. 2. Then, the user will be able to rotate the pair of arm frames 13, 13′ outward in direction C and then push the top cross bar 121 or 121′ downward in direction B until the inner tubes 151, 151′, 161, 161′ insert into the outer tubes 152, 152′, 162, 162′, as shown in FIG. 3. The user will be able to expand the telescoping foldable chair of the invention reverse to above mentioned process.
  • From above description, it is seen that the objects of the present invention have been fully and effectively accomplished. Embodiment of the invention has been shown and described for the purposes of illustrating the functional and structural principles of the present invention and is subject to change without departure from the invention's principles. Therefore, this invention includes all modifications encompassed within the spirit and scope of the following claims.
