- the present invention relates to bedding and more particularly, to such a bedding, which is conveniently washed to remove dust mite allergen.
- Dust mite is a violent allergen. Discharged waste matter, dead bodies and eggs of dust mites will trigger allergic reaction, causing allergic diseases such as allergic rhinitis, allergic gasp, eye allergy, neuro-dermatitis, urticaria, etc. According to report, the percentage of modern people suffering from allergic diseases is gradually increasing. Dust mites are commonly seen in house environment, more particularly in pillows, quilts, mattress, sofas, etc.
- Waste matter from dust mites is the most aggressive allergen. Because waste matter from dust mites is water soluble, it is a good way to wash away dust mite allergen with running water.
- conventional beddings commonly have a certain thickness and not washable with water. Therefore, people usually cleaning beddings by putting them under the light of the sun or patting them with the rods. However, these methods are not effective to remove dust mite allergen.

Abstract
A bedding in accordance with one embodiment of the invention is disclosed to include a plurality of sheety members, and a structure for detachably joining the sheety members such that the sheety members are detachable for cleaning to remove dust mite. In an alternate form of the invention, the bedding includes a sheety member folded or rolled into a multilayer structure, and a structure for securing the multilayer structure in shape.
Description
- 1. Field of the Invention
- The present invention relates to bedding and more particularly, to such a bedding, which is conveniently washed to remove dust mite allergen.
- 2. Description of the Related Art
- It is well known that dust mite is a violent allergen. Discharged waste matter, dead bodies and eggs of dust mites will trigger allergic reaction, causing allergic diseases such as allergic rhinitis, allergic gasp, eye allergy, neuro-dermatitis, urticaria, etc. According to report, the percentage of modern people suffering from allergic diseases is gradually increasing. Dust mites are commonly seen in house environment, more particularly in pillows, quilts, mattress, sofas, etc.
- Waste matter from dust mites is the most aggressive allergen. Because waste matter from dust mites is water soluble, it is a good way to wash away dust mite allergen with running water. However, conventional beddings commonly have a certain thickness and not washable with water. Therefore, people usually cleaning beddings by putting them under the light of the sun or patting them with the rods. However, these methods are not effective to remove dust mite allergen.
- The present invention has been accomplished under the circumstances in view. It is the main object of the present invention to provide a bedding, which is conveniently washable to remove dust mite allergen. According to one aspect of the present invention, the bedding comprises a plurality of sheety members, and means for detachably joining the sheety members such that the sheety members are detachable for cleaning to remove dust mite allergen. According to another embodiment of the invention, the bedding comprises a sheety member folded or rolled into a multilayer structure, and means for detachably securing the multilayer structure in shape.

FIG. 8 is a schematic sectional view of a bedding according to a seventh embodiment of the present invention. - Referring to
FIGS. 1 and 2 , abedding 10 in accordance with the first embodiment of the present invention is made in the form of, for example, a quilt, havingmultiple sheety members 12 and joiningmeans 14. The thickness of the sheety member is about 0.1˜1.5 cm. Thesheety members 12 could be made of natural fibers, silk, cotton, or chemical fibers, just to mention some of the materials preferably usable for these components. Thejoining means 14 comprises acover 16, which is a soft container holding thesheety members 12 inside,hook fasteners 18 andloop fasteners 19 applied between any two of thesheety members 12 to hold thesheety members 12 in a stack. There is no limitation to the number and locations of the hook andloop fasteners sheety members 12 in place, thecover 16 also prohibit separation of the hook andloop fasteners - When wishing to wash the
bedding 10, open thecover 16 and remove thesheety members 12 out of thecover 16, and then unfasten the hook andloop fasteners sheety members 12 one another. Thesheety members 12 each are thin and light, and machine washable. After washing, thesheety members 12 can be dried in the open air, or by a dryer. Because all elements of thebedding 10 are washable, dust mites can be effectively eliminated from thebedding 10. - The aforesaid joining means may be variously embodied.
FIG. 3 shows abedding 20 according to the second embodiment of the present invention. According to this embodiment, azipper 24 is provided between each twosheety members 22 for detachably joining therespective sheety members 22. -
FIG. 4 shows abedding 30 according to the third embodiment of the present invention. According to this embodiment,clips 32 are used to join thesheety members 34. -
FIG. 5 shows abedding 40 according to the fourth embodiment of the present invention. According to this embodiment,loops 44 andbuttons 46 are applied on thesheety members 42 for joining thesheety members 42 in a stack. - The invention may be employed to other beddings such as pillows, mattress, etc.
FIG. 6 shows abedding 50 according to the fifth embodiment of the present invention. According to this embodiment, thebedding 50 is a pillow, comprising acore 51, asheety member 52 rolled round thecore 51 to show amultilayer structure 54 shaped like a flat tube, and joining means to hold themultilayer structure 54 in shape. The joining means can be hook and loop fasteners, zipper, etc. Therefore, thebedding 50 is detachable for cleaning. Further, thecore 51 could be a hollow shell made of woven bamboo material for the advantages of good ventilation and flexibility to give a comfortable support to the user's head. -
FIG. 7 shows abedding 60 according to the sixth embodiment of the present invention. According to this embodiment, thebedding 60 is a mattress comprising acore 61, a sheety member 62, and joining means. The sheety member 62 is folded into amultilayer structure 64 and then wound around thecore 61. The joining means secures the amultilayer structure 64 in place. Thecore 61 is a solid member made of foamed material for supporting thebedding 60 in shape. When unfastened the joining means, the sheety member 62 can be washed. -
FIG. 8 shows abedding 70 according to the seventh embodiment of the present invention. According to this embodiment, thebedding 70 is a pillow comprising a plurality ofsheety members 72 and joining means. Thesheety members 72 each have a tubular shape. Several sheety members are stacked together by the joining means. When unfastened the joining means, thesheety member 72 can be washed. - Although particular embodiments of the invention have been described in detail for purposes of illustration, various modifications and enhancements may be made without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention. Accordingly, the invention is not to be limited except as by the appended claims.
Claims (15)
1. A bedding comprising:
a plurality of sheety members; and
means for detachably joining said sheety members.
2. The bedding as claimed in claim 1 , wherein said sheety members each have a tubular shape.
3. The bedding as claimed in claim 1 , wherein said means for detachably joining said sheety members comprises a hook and loop fastener disposed between two of said sheety members.
4. The bedding as claimed in claim 1 , wherein said means for detachably joining said sheety members comprises a zipper provided between two of said sheety members.
5. The bedding as claimed in claim 1 , wherein said means for detachably joining said sheety members comprises a loop and a button respectively applied on two of said sheety members.
6. The bedding as claimed in claim 1 , wherein said means for detachably joining said sheety members comprises a clip for securing said sheety members together.
7. The bedding as claimed in claim 1 , wherein said means for detachably joining said sheety members comprises a cover for receiving said sheety members inside.
8. The bedding as claimed in claim 1 , further comprising a core disposed between two of said sheety members.
9. A bedding comprising:
a sheety member folded or rolled into a multilayer structure; and
means for detachably securing the multilayer structure in shape.
10. The bedding as claimed in claim 9 , wherein said means for detachably secure the multilayer structure comprises a hook and loop fastener disposed on said sheety member.
11. The bedding as claimed in claim 9 , wherein said means for detachably secure the multilayer structure comprises a zipper applied on said sheety member.
12. The bedding as claimed in claim 9 , wherein said means for detachably secure the multilayer structure comprises a loop and a button applied on said sheety member.
13. The bedding as claimed in claim 9 , wherein said means for detachably secure the multilayer structure comprises a clip disposed on said sheety member.
14. The bedding as claimed in claim 9 , wherein said means for detachably secure the multilayer structure comprises a cover for receiving said multilayer structure inside.
15. The bedding as claimed in claim 9 , further comprising a core disposed insides said multilayer structure.
