IMPROVEMENT IN GLASS BOTTLES.
Specification forming part of Letters Patent No. 186,938, dated February 6, 1877 application filed January 12, 1877.
To all ywhom it may concern:
Be it known that I, WILLIAM O. KING, of
`Union township, county of Allegheny, State of Pennsylvania, have invented or discovered a new and useful Improvement in Glass Bottles 5 and I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, concise, and exact description thereof, reference being had to the accompanying drawing, making a part of this specification, which shows my improved bottle in perspective.
` My invention consists of a glass bottle having a aring crimped mouth. The art of fiar ing and crimping the upper ends of lampchimneys and the lower ends of smoke-bells is so well known that it need not here be eX- plained.
The bottle B is made by blowing or pressing in any of the ways known to the art with an .ordinary neck, b. In the finishing operation I hold or take it in the usual way, and,
while hot, open out the mouth a, and make the crimps a', four or more in number, at regular intervals around the mouth, by the use of suitable known appliances adapted to such purposes.
