MAYER K; MAXWELL, OFCBUTTE', MONTANA.
, ELECTRICAL FIXTURE.
Applicationfiled November 12,1924. Serial No; 749,475.
Thisinvention relates to certain improvements in;electrical fixtures .and'it is an object of the invention to. provide a novel, and
improved'device ofthis general character adapted to provide illuminated ornamentation for the interior of, an automobile or the like. I
Another object of the invention is to provide a novel and improved device of this general character which operates' to p'rovide .anq illumined .;bouquet of artificial flowers. M a
A further object of the invention is to provide a novel and improved device of this general character comprising a holder or container consisting of separable sections, said sections when assembled providing requisite connection with a suitable source of electrical energy and also providing means for supporting or retaining the articles to be illuminated.
The invention consists in the details of construction and in the combination and arrangement of the several parts of my improved'electrical fixture whereby certain important advantages are attained and the devicerendered simpler, less expensive and otherwise more convenient and advantageous for use, as will be hereinafter more fully set forth.
The novel features of my invention will hereinafter be definitely claimed.
In order that my invention may be the better understood, I will now proceed to describe the same with reference to the accompanying drawings, wherein Figure 1 is a View in elevation of a fixture constructed in accordance with an embodiment of my invention; a t
Figure 2 is an elevational view somewhat of a diagrammatic character illustrating various parts of my improved fixture as herein disclosed in separated relation;
Figure 3 is an enlarged view partly in section and partly in elevation of my imroved fixture as herein disclosed with the owers omitted;
' Figure 4 is a view in top plan of the a member l male. The member 8 bling a flower holder, said member-consist' ing of two separable parts 1 and 2. Garried by the opposed end portions of thesections 1 and 2 are the memb-ers 3 and. 4 of an electrical connector of a conventional type, the member 3fbeing female and the bodies a, circuitcloser or switch of a conventional type and which is operated through the medium of the push buttons. 5. Then the members-3 and l are in engagement one withthe other, the sections 1 and 2 of the member M are maintained in desired assembled relation but to further maintain the sections 1 and 2 in requisite assembly I dispose around the connecting end portions of said sections 1- and 2 the clamping band 6 provided adjacent its opposite sides 'with the inwardly disposed ribs 7 seating within the circumferentially directed grooves or channels 8 provided in the sections 1 an-d2.
As herein disclosed, the band 6 is of a split type and has its free ends provided withthe angularly disposed arms 9 with which is associated a clamping medium 9- herein disclosed as a conventional bolt and nut. The extremities of the arms Qterminate in the outstanding feet 10 providing means whereby the band 6 together with the member M ,may be suitably mounted upon a desired sup port and particularly within the body of an automobile or thejlike. I Y
The male member 4 within the section 2 has operatively connected therewith in; a well-known manner a cable 11 adapted for communication with a suitable source of electrical energy. The female member 3 has in electrical connection therewith the conductors 12 of desired length and which extend outwardly beyond the outer open end of the section. 1. The 'conductors12 as herein disclosed, are arranged in pairs and each of said pairs having wrapped therearound a wire 14 orthe like so that rigidity will be given to said conductors in close simulation of the stem of a flower, such as a rose.
Connected tothe outer end portion of each pair of conductors 12 is a socket 15 upon which is directly mounted an imitation flower 16, such as a rose, the petals of which being clustered around the centrally disposed bulb 17 which has requisite electrical connection with the socket 15.
With my improved fixture arranged with,
an automobile or otherwise positioned a also emhighly ornamental effect is obtained and which afford-s effective and attractive "iiIu mined ornamentation.
From the foregoing description it is thought to be obvious that an electrical fixture constructed in accordance With my invention is particularly Well adapted for use by'reason of the convenience and facility with Which it may be assembled and operated, and it Will also be obvious that my invention is susceptible of some change and modification Without departing from the principles and spirit thereof and for this reason I do not Wish to be understood as limiting myself to the precise arrangement and formation of tlie'several herein shown 1n carrylngout my invention in practice exeeptas hereinafter claimed.
lclaim :1 I I A device of the class described comprising aabodyr consisting of separable sections, an
tions of the bodyforholdingthe same in' assembled relation, the ad'acerit end portions of the sections of the. bo' c ly bein provided With channels there/around, said clamping a d b n p e ded with r bs -ins ith said channels. i
