Be it known that I; E uin useful Improvements in Trucks, -of v hich the following lSfLSPBClfiCELtlOIl. a I i very :rigid and; durable -structure pro- 3 vided and one that canbemade .w1thcom- :paratively small expense,v alias iw ll be hereinafter more fully described and claimed; 1
Figure 1 is a p p house truckconstructed in accordance with my said invention, one corner of' the fioon and ia port on of one sidebelng brokenaway; in order to illustrate the 'construct o'n more clearly,
Fig. 2, a top or construction, a a Fig. 3, a detail section-,and
Fig. 4, a view similar to Fig. 2 showing a somewhat modified form of the corner constructlon.
In said drawings the portions'marked A represent the truck proper,' B the corner posts, and C the main wheels on whichlthe truck is mounted, all of whichare, or may be, of any appropriate or desired construction. I
The truck frame consists of two end members 10, and each side of the frame has two side members 11 andl12 extending from end to end and parallel with each other and T he corner irons 13 are formed with sockets to receive spaced a short distance apart;
the corner stakes, or posts, 13, andlare terposed between the members 11 and 12 at each corner, having flanges llwhioh exa distance along the faceof theendrmem angle-iron brace 19 is mounted in each'rightangle corner between the members 10 and-12 of the frame and is formed with avertical plan view of the; corner;
3 loads Without breaking is provided, On-ac fcount of the peculiar structure whereby the tend across the end-of member 12 and for responding grooves in the faceof said mem- 1 is formed. with perforations to receive the tie bOltS'lSj and the other flange witlrperfo the flange 1a of the corner iron;
The wheelsG are mounted on an axle 1n bearing boxes 31 and32 mounted on the Specification'of Letters Patent. Aspiratio filed. June 111, 1919.1, Serial Naeoeasa I l D tongue 20 on'one facelwhich fits intoa corr n rz, a cit zen of-the Unitedgtates, residing at lndianapo -lis, in the county of Marionand, State of:
Indiana have invented certain new and rations toreceive bolts 21 which alsoextend- Y through'themember 10 and perforations in My said inventionconsists in various m V provements in the details; of construction of warehouse trucks, particularly the corner a and side construction thereof, whereby a,

truck is thus adaptedto slightly rock."
By this constructiona- Iveryfrigid truck and :oneTeapable of carrying very heavy loadis carried b jwthe "center wheels (Jpthe the center of the side frames causing them' i'whi'ch carry: the load and on Vwhich the 2 herein provided not only increases the strength of the said sides but provides means i for carrying the bearings of "the shaft on ports saidishaftand enables the wheels to a be mounted between the bearing boxes with the ends of their hubs abutting the adjacent faces of said boxes, thus supporting them in 5 a very secure manner. It will be understood that the shafts may turn in the boxes or beheld fast and the wheels turn on the shafts, as preferred.
Hving thus fully described my said invention, whatI claim as new and desire to secureby Letters Patent, is:
1.. A truck mounted to be supported mainly upon centrally disposed wheels and constructed with a frame the sides of which are each composed of two parallel members spaced adistance' apart, corner irons iIltQlF' posed between saidside members at each end and formed with sockets to receive'the stakes, end members a connected 7 with said sidemembers, andsecuring devices for securing said corner irons, side members and end members together, substantially asset forth. 1 v v '2. A truck comprising a platform mount- 7 ed on wheels disposed centrally thereof, said platform consistingof a frame each side of which has two parallel members, corner irons interposed between said two members on each side of said platform, end members connectedtherewith, corner braces interposed in the cornerat the uncture between the. end members and the inner members of the sides, and .bolts extending throughbothside members, the corner irons and 5 corner brace iron, forsecuring the parts to- I gether, substantially as set forth.
-3. A truck. composed of a: platform and wheels, the wheels being centrally disposed on axles mounted in bearings on the side members of the frame, said frame being composed of two members on each side spaced a distance apart with corner irons between them having stake sockets, a bearingfor the axle of the wheels on -each side member, and bolts for securing the corner irons andcorners of the frame members together, substantially as set forth.
platform frame-being mounted on the axle by means of bearings carried on the several SlClG' members, and wheels mounted on the axle between the members of the sides of the frame, substantially as set forth,
'5. In a truck a frame comprlsing side and end members, said side members being longer than the end members and each comprising substantially parallel members, wheels fixed between the parts of each side member at about its mid length, and corner irons for holding the several members in their proper relative positions.
In witness whereof, I have'hereunto set my hand and seal at Indianapolis, Indiana, this 9th day of June, A. D. nineteen hundred and nineteen EMIL DIETZ. [L. s] VV-itnesses H. V. BIERMAN, M. L. THULER;
