To all whom it may concern:

a citizen of the United States, residing at Columbus, in the county of'Platte and State of Nebraska, have invented certain new and useful Improvements Haulin Attachments for Automobiles, and I do declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as willenable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same.

My, invention has for its object to provide a simplyconstructed and inexpensive, yet a highl eflicient and durable device which may be placed in the tonneau of an autoing so constructed that it may be compactly folded when not in use. p

With the foregoing general object in view, the invention resides in the novel features of construction and unique combinations of parts to be hereinafter fully described and claimed, the descriptive matter being supplemented by the accompanyin' drawings which form a part of this speci cation and in Which:

Side boards 8 and-9 are permanently secured to the rear edge and to the ends of the platform 1 in any preferred manner, and another side board- 10 is hinged at 11 to the front edge of the platform extension 3, while removable side boards 12 extend from the front. ends of the boards 9 to the board 10, said boards 12 having cleats 13 against which said-board l0 rests. as shown clearly in the drawing. Hooks or the like 14 are provided for securing the front endsof the removable side boards -12'to the board 10, and for the purpose of preventing lateral shifting of said board 12, pins 15 preferably depend therefrom through openings 16 in the platform extension 8. said pins being formed on the lower ends of vertical bars or plates 17 which extend across and are secured to the boards 12. It is to be observed that these boards 12 are located in alinementwith the rear doors 18 which lead into the 13011116311 f seat frame and if required the seat cushion may be used without removing the-attachment, but in most cases this will not be done. From the foregoing, taken in connection with the accompanying drawings, it will be obvious that although my invention is of eX tremelysimple nature it will be highly eflicient and durable for the purpose intended,
