1253877 九、發明說明: 【發明所屬之技術領域】 本發明係有關於一種有機電致發光裝置及其製造方法,尤指一種雙 平面式有機電致發光裝置及其製造方法,其包括具有在不同的基板上 形成的薄膜電晶體及有機電致發光二極體元件之一種陣列裝置。 【先前技術】 一般來說’有機電致發光裝置(organic electroluminescent device,0ELD)係為平面顯示器(flat panel display)的其中之一種 樣示。其發光的方式,係將來自陰極(cathode)之電子(electrons)及 來自陽極(anode)之電洞(holes)分別注入至發光層(emission layer) 内’使電子與電洞結合,產生激子(excit〇n),且激子會從激態(excited state)落至基態(grounci state)並以光的形式釋出。不同於液晶顯示 器(liquid crystal display,LCD)裝置,對有機電致發光裝置而言, 不需要額外光源才能發光。所以根據前述所言,該有機電致發光裝置 有著輕便、輕薄的外形、體積小、寬廣的視角以及高影像對比的優點。 此外’有機電致發光裝置能工作在直流低電壓(DC l〇w v〇ltage),因 此有著低功率消耗’反應速度快(fast response time)的優點。故, 有機電致發光裝置為一種積體裝置(integrated device)且對外力衝擊 有較佳的耐久性以及較為廣泛的應用。其次,因製造有機電致發光裝 置的程序相對較簡單,所以,有機電致發光裝置的製造成本很低。 第1圖示係為根據習知技術,描述有機電致發光裝置中一個像素 區(pixel area)之示意圖。在第1圖示中,掃描線乃沿著第一方向而 形成。一彳§s虎線及一電源線沿者與第一方向垂直的第二方向而形成, 且兩線橫越(crossing)過掃描線,如此而界定出像素區。而在圖示中, 交換式薄膜電晶體(switching transistor)Ts可充當為位址元件 (address element),且形成在該掃描線及該信號線之一橫越點 (crossing p〇int),以及與儲存電容CsT連接。該交換式薄膜電晶體化 用來控制電壓,而儲存電谷Cst乃儲存電流源(currenf s〇urce)。
