Abstract
For this, the frequency of the trace, or the pulses from the master oscillator 1, by frequency frequency unit 2 is divided to a value at which their follow-up period at the output will be equal to the maximum delay time. The received pulses are delayed by delay elements 4, 5, 6 and connected with a switch to the driver 7 of the electric pulses controlling the fiber-optic switch 9. The delayed pulses are sent to the driver 3, of the electric pulses from the output of which they fall on the switch 8. In the moment of approach of the optical pulse to be delayed, to the end of the input segment of the light guide 10, the switch 8 is supplied with a control electric pulse, the transfer switch 8 from position A to The position of B. The drawing shows a diagram of a fiber optic delay line.
25The fiber optic delay line contains a 1 pulse generator; frequency divider 2, first electric pulse shaper 3, electric pulse delay elements 4, 5, 6 for a time, multiple of the optical pulse transit time through the intermediate fiber spacing, second electric pulse shaper 7, first 8 and second 9 optical switches, input 10, output 11 and intermediate 12 fiber lengths.25
The fiber optic delay line operates as follows.
The master oscillator 1 generates electrical pulses, the period of which is equal to the time T of a single optical pulse passing through the intermediate light guide 12. It can be synchronized with another generator or source of informative pulses. I. Using block 2, the following frequency
12050952pulses of the master oscillator is divided to such a value that their follow-up period on the input is equal to the maximum delay time that needs to be received, t. e. T, pks Received delay pulses - Qrc using delay elements 4, 5, 6 at a time, for example. T, 2T, ST and with the help of a switch are connected to the driver 7 of the electrical pulses that control the fiber-optic switch 9. Unlocked pulses from the output of the divider 2 are fed to the driver 3 of the electrical pulses, from the output of which they are fed to the fiber-optical switch 8 Outcome 12050952
In this case, an optical pulse is introduced into the light guide 12, after the end of which the switch 8 is reset to the initial state A. The input pulse circulates in the ring

5 of the light guide 12. When using light guides with low attenuation (0.2 dB / km per 7 g of 1.55 microns), the optical imguls can be circulated in a fiber length of hundreds of meters to several kilometers without significant
10 amplitude reduction 5 - 10 times or more. This makes it possible to obtain a delay of tens or even hundreds of microseconds for a relatively short length of the fiber 12. Attenuation in the connection of the ends of the optical fiber 12 in the position A can be no more than 0, L-0.3 dB. By switching the delay elements 4, 5, 6, the optical switch 9 is switched from position A to position B at the moment when the optical pulse propagating in light guide 12 reaches its output end. After the end of the optical pulse, the switch 9 is reset.
