Abstract

A process for hydrocarbon conversion uses as catalyst a crystalline aluminosilicate having a silica/alumina ratio in excess of 3 and uniform pores between 6 and 15 <\>rA in diameter and containing cations below sodium in the electromotive series, or calcium, or any mixtures thereof, ammonium, hydrogen or organic nitrogen base ions, and less than 3% of alkali metal ions (see Division C1). The aluminosilicate may be suspended in and distributed throughout a matrix of a binding agent, and the composition may also contain an additive to increase its porosity (see Division B1). The cracking of a mid-Continent gas oil having a boiling range 450-950 DEG F. to gasoline having an end boiling point of 410 DEG F. at atmospheric pressure and at 875-900 DEG F. using various catalysts according to the invention is described The catalyst may also be used in alkylation, dealkylation, disproportionation, isomerization and polymerization reactions.
