이상에서 준비한 샘플을 가지고 충치균인 스트렙토코쿠스 뮤탄스 (Streptococcus mutans)의 증식 억제능을 확인하였다. 상기의 샘플이 혼합된 배지에 스트렙토코쿠스 뮤탄스 (Streptococcus mutans)를 도말하고 3일 동안 정치배양하여 스트렙토코쿠스 뮤탄스 (Streptococcus mutans)의 생육 억제능을 측정하였다. 그 결과는 도 3과 같이 나타났다. 도 3에서 보는 바와 같이, 3일 경과 후, 실험군은 스트렙토코쿠스 뮤탄스 (Streptococcus mutans)의 생육을 완전히 억제하는 것으로 나타났다. 이에 반해 음성대조군에서는 스트렙토코쿠스 뮤탄스 (Streptococcus mutans)의 생육이 약 18.5 log(CFU) 값 정도로 나타났다. 이와 같은 결과로부터 본 발명의 균주에 항충치 활성이 있는 것으로 결론내릴 수 있었다.
