Abstract

PURPOSE:To absorb the influence of external force by a servo system during tracking jump by operating the offset and the polarity of a tracking error signal without opening a tracking servo system even during the tracking jump. CONSTITUTION:If an offset signal is added to the tracking error signal, the servo system acts so as to turn an apparent error signal into '0'. When an offset is added more and more to the tracking error signal, a light spot 1 starts to move, and at the moment that it moves to a position 1/4 track pitch distant from an aimed track 4-2, the servo system turns the offset into '0', and at the same time, returns the polarity of the tracking error signal into the former one. Then, the light spot 1 is attracted onto the track 4-2 by the action of the track servo system, and hereafter, it starts to follow this track. Thus, the stable track jump can be realized by removing the influence of the external force by the compensating ability of the tracking servo system.
