Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable the implementation of stable measurement, by calculating particles in a fluid as three-dimensional turbulence signals and by determining the mass flow rate of a powder substance based on the result of calculation. CONSTITUTION:A light-emitting element 41 and a photosensing element 51 are disposed in a pair as an optical sensor on the Y axis, and a plurality of particles are sensed as analog signals corresponding to the plurality. Multipliers 11 and 12 are provided for determining turbulence signals of a powder substance as three-dimensional ones from two-dimensional ones. Since the results of these multiplications are proportional to the density of the powder substance within a prescribed range, the average of the results of the multipliers in the upstream and the downstream is determined by an average computing unit 30, so as to obtain an exact density rho. A computing unit 20 determines cross-correlation on the basis of the result of the above computation, so as to obtain the velocity V of the powder fluid.
