Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve the parallelism of wiring, to save area, and to increase transmission capacity by connecting a light emitting element and a light receiving element which differ in oscillation wavelength to the input terminal and output terminal of the light input/output part of an optical waveguide connected to a waveguide type optical mixer part. CONSTITUTION:A shared path between chips is formed by connecting LSI chips 80-83 and the optical mixer part 1 by the optical waveguide 20 and a wavelength filter 3 and waveguides 4 and 40 to which its reflected light is inputted constitute the light input/output part 30. When the respective wavelengths lambdaalpha-lambdagamma of a long-wavelength transmission filter 3 which differ in cutoff wavelength and the respective oscillation wavelengths lambdaa-lambdac of the light emitting element are so set that lambdaa>lambdaalpha>lambdab<lambdabeta<lambdac<lambdagamma, channel parallel signal transmission between optional chips is enabled as shown in a figure. The light emitting and receiving elements 6 and 7 and waveguide 20 are arranged orderly and closely at the outer periphery of a chip to save the area, and the number of transmission channels is increased to speed up the transmission.
