Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a conductive roll which is uniform and has electrical characteristics having reproducibility by covering the surface of a cylindrical sleeve with a conductive resin layer essentially consisting of a metal phthalocyanine-bonded phenolic resin. CONSTITUTION:The metal phthalocyanine-bonded phenolic resin is prepd. by compounding the phenolic resin and metal phthalocyanine tetra N-methyrol at 10-70wt.% of the weight of the phenolic resin. Ni, Cu, etc., are adequate for the metal. This resin is dissolved in ethyl alcohol, etc., to prepare a soln. having 50-500cps viscosity. An arbor 12 consisting of an Al alloy, etc., is perpendicularly held, is housed in a vessel 11 and is repeatedly immersed in the soln. 13. The liquid film having 10-500mum thickness is formed by setting the conditions. The film is hardened by a treatment for 2-5hr at 50-80 deg.C and further for 5-30min at 100-120 deg.C to obtain the resin layer. The formation of the roll is completed by combining gaps 3 with this layer. The metal is bonded in the state of being uniformly dispersed in the phenolic resin of the metal phthalocyanine-bonded phenolic resin and the electrical characteristics do not change in any place.
