Abstract

PURPOSE:To avoid the blocking of printing paper without interruption with operability when papers are set in the early period by providing a switch by which the main roller for feeding paper and a subsidiary roller for initially setting paper are allowed to work in reverse phases. CONSTITUTION:After a preparatory stage in which a subsidiary roller 2-1 is released and the main roller 2-2 is in non-released state, a switch 6 is turned ON, the roller 2-1 is put into non-released state, and the roller 2-2 is released. At a time when the tip 1' of a rolled paper 1 is passed by a cutter 5, the switch 6 is turned OFF to stop the automatic feeding of paper. Under the usual use condition, the roller 2-1 is released, the roller 2-2 is set to non-release state, and paper is fed by the main roller 2-2.

Conventional printer paper feeding mechanisms that issue receipts require the paper to be cut for each transaction. Since the paper was designed to be printed in one section and then cut by the cutter 5, if the leading edge of the paper hit a part of the mechanism and the paper stopped there, a new paper would be sent out by the roller 2. Another drawback is that paper tends to become clogged inside the paper feed mechanism.
