Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce electric power consumption of the resistor and enable high speed recording by covering the part of the resistor connected between a pair of the electrode conductors with the insulation layer of excellent thermal conductivity. CONSTITUTION:The electrode conductor 2 and the resistor 3 are formed by thick film technology on the insulation substrate 1. Then, the first insulation layer 41a of the same height as the top face of the resistor 3 is formed covering a part of the resistor 3 side of the electrode conductors 2 and the surrounding of the resistor 3 by utilizing thick film technology. Next the second insulation layer 41b more excellent thermal conductivity than the first insulation layer (e.g. silicon carbide, silicon nitride etc.) and also the thinner film thickness is formed by thin film technology, so as to cover a part of the top face of the first insulation layer 41a and the total top face of the resistor 3. Thus the thermal head is made.
