Abstract

PURPOSE: To raise the initial strength of water-contng. soft earth or sludge, by adding a gypsum component such as gypsum dihydrate, fine quenched blast furnace slag and Portland cement to the soft earth or sludge at specified rates.
CONSTITUTION: Water-contg. soft earth or sludge is mixed with 5W35wt%, by total, of a gypsum component comprising gypsum dehydrate and hemihydrate and/ or soluble anhydrous gypsum, 30W70% of fine quenched blast furnace slag and 25W50% of Portland cement, such that the total amount of the gypsum dihydrate to the total gypsum content is 40W95%, while that of the hemihydrate and/or soluble anhydrous gypsum is 60W5mol%. Because of the addition of the strength-raising agent of this kind, the water-contng. soft earth or sludge can be effectively improved in its strength at a low cost.
