Abstract

PURPOSE: To prevent a hollow formed article from being damaged when it is extruded from a mold by a method wherein the mold is rotated and supplied with a heating medium in such a manner that the expansion of the mold by heating starts from both end parts thereof and gradually proceeds up to the middle part thereof.
CONSTITUTION: A mold 12 is rotated by a driving device 22. Then, a heating medium, such as raw steam, is introduced near to the outer-peripheral surface of the mold 12 through a conduit 38 and supplied to both end parts of the mold 12 in larger quantities than to the middle part thereof from many jet orifices provided in the conduit 38. In this way, the expansion by heating is caused first in both end parts of the mold where it is rather hard to occur and then proceeds gradually to the middle part so as to cause continuous slackening between the mold 12 and a formed article 14, thereby the occurrence of damage on the formed article 14 in extrusion from the mold 12 is prevented.
