Abstract

PURPOSE: To reduce readout errors of an address signal for positioning the beginning of a magnetic recording medium by composing the address signal of three kinds of start, binary address code and end signals and by putting those signals out of phase with a timing signal by steps.
CONSTITUTION: In forward reproduction, start signal (s) is detected by the 1st clock generated being (T1/Tv)×100% of reproduction period Tv' out of phase with control signal CTL and an address signal is detected by the 2nd clock generated being (T2/Tv)×100% of signal CTLTv' out of phase. Further, end signal (e) is detected by the 3rd clock generated being out of phase by (T4/Tv)×100% of signal Tv'. Thus, three kinds of start, address and end signals are separately extracted and only when those signals are all obtained, the correct address is displayed. In reverse reproduction, on the other hand, the polarity of each signal is only inverted.
