Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain an ultrasonic transducer which has a large electromechanical coupling coefficient regarding thickness vibration by constituting a piezoelectric body by utilizing deformation perpendicular to the film surface of a copolymer of vinylidene fluoride and ethylene trifluoride. CONSTITUTION:Onto polymer substrate 1, copper plate 2 is bonded and to this, a material which is a copolymer of vinylidene fluoride and ethylene trifluoride and has Al vapor-deposition electrode 3 on piezoelectric film 4 of about 43mum in thickness containing about 25mol% ethylene trifluoride is bonded. Further, an electric connection with electrode 3 on the piezoelectric film is made by earthing metallic case 6, polyester film 5 for surface protection is bonded onto piezoelectric film 4 and the whole body is contained in plastics-made case 7.
