Abstract

PURPOSE: To hasten setting time in the adhesion of porous materials such as wood or paper, to improve adhesion strength and to carry out the adhesion without environmental pollution, by a method wherein a woodmeal is previously deposited on an adherent surface which is then bonded by using an α-cyanoacrylate adhesion.
CONSTITUTION: A woodmeal having a particle size of 45W300μ or a shape thereof is previously deposited on an adherent surface when adhesion is carried out by using an α-cyanoacrylate adhesive. The woodmeal can be deposited on the adherent surface in the following manner. The woodmeal as such or a dispersion of the woodmeal in a small amount of water or in a volatile solvent such as alcohol, is coated on the adherent surface. The adherent surface is rubbed with the shape of the woodmeal. The shape is prepd. by the compression molding of the woodmeal or a mixt. of the woodmeal and a binder such as water, alcohols, or PVA. The hardness of the shape is in such a degree that when the shape is contacted with the adherent surface, e.g., by rubbing, the shape is finly divided and deposited as a sealer.
