Abstract

PURPOSE: To eliminate brightness deviations among the display units by placing successive lines or columns of photo element pellets directly from an expansible sheet to display units.
CONSTITUTION: Photo element wafer 1 is attached to expansible adhesive sheet 2. After dicing and breaking up, sheet 2 is heated and expanded, and each element pellet is separated from others. Under this condition, element pellets are etched. Next, rows of photo element pellets are arranged alternately in opposite directions as shown by arrowheads and broken lines. Although a local deviation exists in the luminance characteristics of these photo elements, practically on deviation can be recognized within the range of 10mm. Consequently, when pellets are arranged by this method, the display segments exhibit a uniform luminance.
