Abstract

PURPOSE:To effect the reduction in size at a change gear casing by forming the change drum for operating the change gear of a two-wheeled vehicle engine to a cylindrical shape and disposing the drum at the outer periphery of the intermediate shaft. CONSTITUTION:Whithin a change gear casing 21 in unison with a crank case disposed are a crank shaft 22, an intermediate shaft 26 interlocked with the shaft 22 via gears 28, 29, a main shaft 35 interlocked with the intermediate shaft 26 via a change fork 34 and holding a group of change gears, an output shaft 41 interlocked with the main shaft 35 via a wet multiplates clutch 38, and a drive shaft 44 interlocked with the output shaft 41 via a gear 45 in the vertical direction in turn. At the outer periphery of the intermediate shaft 26 provided is a change drum 31 in a cylindrical shape which is supported by a holder 32. In this arrangement, the main shaft 35 is interlocked with the intermediate shaft 26 through the engagement of the change fork 34 with a change cam groove 33 provided at the outer periphery of the cylindrical change drum 31.
