Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide a fuel injection system of a simple and economical structure, which is capable of supplying well-atomized mixture to a plurality of cylinders by use of a common fuel injection valve.
CONSTITUTION: A Karman vortex flow meter is designed to measure fluid flow rate by detecting flow caused in thru-hole 3 each time vortex is produced by vortex generating means 2 disposed in fluid as resistance change of hot wire 4 and thereby measuring its frequency or period of vortex generation. Therefore, if such a Karman vortex flow meter is used as sensor for detecting flow rate of suction air and fuel is injected to the area where fluid flow is disturbed by the Karman vortices, fuel is well mixed with air and a mixture containing highly atomized fuel can be obtained. In the arragement of this invention, nozzle 15 of fuel injection valve 14 is opened at a downstream side of vortex generating means 11 to inject fuel to the portion where fluid flow is highly agitated by Karman vortices, so that fuel is supplied to cylinders after it is well mixed with suction air from suction port 7.
