Abstract

PURPOSE: To effectively prevent concentration polarization occurring in the vicinity of the ion exchange film in a dilution chamber, by agitating the raw liquid by mixing air bubbles which contact simultaneously with both opposedly provided cation exchange film and anion exchange film in the raw liquid in the dilution chamber, in the electrodialytic method.
CONSTITUTION: A raw liquid 8A for concentration is supplied into an electrolyte concentration chamber 7A in an electrodialytic cell, and a raw liquid 9A for dilution is supplied into an electrolyte dilution chamber 7B. A gas 12 is introduced from the outside of the electrodialytic cell, and led into the concentration chamber 7A or dilution chamber 7B, and is discharged into the raw liquid as air bubbles 13 by means of air distribution device 6A. The air bubbles 13 violently climb up in zigzag form, and the raw liquid is violently agitated. Then the concentrated water 10A after the dialytic process is recovered from a flow route 10, and the diluted water 11A from a flow route 11. In this case, the concentration polarization ocurring in the vicinity of the film surface may be prevented in the dilution chamber 7B, and occurrence of suspended matter in the vicinity of the film surface may be prevented in the concentration chamber 7A.
