Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide a rapid-and long-acting anti-allergic agent effective to both prevention and control of the fit of asthema, administrable orally as well as by injection, containing trimethoxybenzyl tetrahydroisoquinoline derivative as an effective component.
CONSTITUTION: An anti-allergic agent in the form of tablet for oral administration, injection, inhalant, suppository, etc., containing, as an effective component, an isoquinoline derivative of formula I (Ring A is dihydroxybenzene ring of formula II or III, e.g. l-1-(3,4,5-trimethoxybenzyl)-6,7-dihydroxy-1,2,3,4-tetrahydroisoquinoline (trimetoquinol). Dose for adult: 0.1-20 mg, pref. 0.1-10 mg/dose for oral administration, and 1μg-10 mg, pref. 1μg-1 mg, more pref. 1μg-0.1 mg for intravenous injection.
