Abstract
PURPOSE:The comparatively inexpensive brazing metal which is especially suitable for stainless steel and Ni-alloy, is superior in the corrosion resisting property and in the joint strength, and is easily workable, obtained by constituting of the alloy of peculiar composition containing Ni, Cr, Cu, and Pd. COMPOSITION:This brazing metal contains by weight, 5-40% Ni, 2-20% Cr, 20-60% Cu, and additionally if necessary, 0.3-8% of one or more kinds of Si, Ge, P, In, and B, and the balance of more than 25% Pd and the inevitable impurities. EFFECT:The melting point of this brazing metal differs according to the selected constitutents, however, it is approximately 1000-1200 deg.C, therefore, the optimum brazing temperature is 1050-1250 deg.C, which coincides with the temperature of forming the solid solution of stainless steel and the annealing temperature of heat resisting and corrosion resisting Ni-alloy.
