[Means for Solving the Problem] The structure of the present invention will be described with reference to FIGS. 1 to 3. The torsion bar anchor arm holding cross member is a bottom surface of both ends of a U-shaped cross member 1 extending in the vehicle width direction. To
A receiving surface 1a against which the cylindrical wall 21 of the torsion bar anchor arm 2 abuts, and a restricting portion 1b for restricting the axial movement of the torsion bar anchor arm 2 are formed, and inside the cross member both end portions 11 are formed. Is provided with a reinforcing plate 3 that divides the U-shaped space into upper and lower parts.
The outer end 12 of the cross member 1 is joined and fixed to the inner side surface of the side member 4 extending in the vehicle front-rear direction, and the restricting portion on the lower surface of the cross member 1 holds the tubular portion 21 at the front-rear position in the axial direction. Parallel standing wall of torsion bar anchor arm 2
A flange 13 is formed by a hole 1b into which 221 fits and engages, and at the opening edge of the hole 1b facing these parallel standing walls 221, the facing interval is gradually narrowed upward from below.
Is formed so that the parallel standing wall 221 is sandwiched between the narrowest portions of these flanges 13.

[Operation] In the cross member having the above structure, the receiving surface of the torsion bar anchor arm 2 is provided on the lower surface of both ends 11 of the cross member 1.
Since 1a is formed, it is not necessary to join the reinforcing plates to the front and rear side surfaces of the cross member as in the conventional case. If the position of the anchor arm 2 is fixed, the vertical dimension of the U-shaped cross-section cross member 1 can be made larger than that of the conventional one, so that the bending rigidity is improved.

An arc-shaped anchor arm receiving surface 1a is formed on the lower surface of the end portion 11 of the cross member 1, and the parallel standing wall 221 of the anchor arm 2 described later can be inserted from this receiving surface 1a toward the vehicle center. A long hole 1b which is a hole is formed, and further, a flange 13 which is erected upward is formed on a half peripheral edge of the long hole 1b on the receiving surface 1a side (FIG. 4). As shown in the figure, the flanges 13 facing each other are formed so as to be inclined so that the facing interval gradually narrows upward from below. Also,
The reinforcing plate 3 corresponds to the elongated hole 1b and has the receiving surface.
An elongated hole 3a (Fig. 2) is formed so as to be shorter than the elongated hole 1b so as not to open on the 1a.

A rear end of the torsion bar 5 whose front end is connected to an upper control arm (not shown) is spline-fitted to the cylindrical portion 21 of the anchor arm 2, and the cylindrical portion 21 is crossed by the spring reaction force of the torsion bar 5. It is held in contact with the receiving surface 1a of the member 1 (FIG. 4). Then, in this state, the parallel standing walls 221 formed on the entire circumference of the tubular portion 21 as an extension of the arm portion 22 are sandwiched between the narrowest portions of the flange 13 at the peripheral edge of the elongated hole 1b, and the tubular portion 21 is formed. By eliminating the conventional reinforcing plates 71 and 72 and forming the receiving surface 1a on the lower surface of the cross member 1, if the position of the anchor arm 2 is fixed, the vertical dimension of the U-shaped cross member 1 can be increased. As a result, the bending rigidity of the cross member 1 is improved.

Further, as the reinforcing plate 3 provided in the cross member 1, a relatively thin plate can be used, and the torsional rigidity of the cross member 1 is improved by providing the reinforcing plate 3. Further, the outer end 31 of the reinforcing plate 3 is connected to the outer end 12 of the cross member 1.
At the same time, by joining the inner surface of the side member 4, the joint strength between the cross member 1 and the side member 4 is also improved.

A long hole 1b that has been conventionally provided on the lower surface of the cross member 1 for penetrating the bolt 62 is extended, and a parallel standing wall 221 that constitutes the anchor arm arm portion 22 is formed on the flange 13 formed at the peripheral edge of the long hole 1b. Since they are engaged with each other to restrict the axial movement of the anchor arm 2, it is not necessary to form the groove 23 on the outer circumference of the anchor arm tubular portion 21 as in the conventional case. Since the flanges 13 are formed such that the facing interval gradually narrows upward from below, these flanges 13 can serve as guides for smoothly inserting and assembling the parallel standing walls 221, and the existence of the flanges 13 is possible. Due to the long hole 1b
Sufficient strength of the lower surface of the cross member formed with is also secured.
