<Prior art> Generally, this type of thermal transfer printer places a transfer film whose surface is coated with ink between a thermal printing head and an image receiving paper, and heats the transfer film from the back side with the thermal printing head. , the ink is transferred to an image-receiving paper that is in close contact with the surface of the transfer film, and a desired pattern is printed on the image-receiving paper. Therefore, there is no restriction that a specific thermal paper must be used as in the case of a thermal paper printer, and plain paper can be used. Therefore, various types of plain paper may be used depending on the convenience of the user.

<Problems to be Solved by the Invention> By the way, conventionally, a thermal printing head has a single row of heating elements arranged in a row, and this row of heating elements creates a pattern to be printed on the image-receiving paper. was forming. However, in this case, as mentioned above, if the user uses, for example, image receiving paper with a low paper surface smoothness, the surface of the image receiving paper is rough, so that the ink-coated surface of the transfer film and the surface of the image receiving paper may not come into close contact. The ink is not completely transferred to the surface of the image-receiving paper with only one printing. As a result, the dot reproducibility deteriorates, the print pattern becomes unclear, and the print quality significantly deteriorates. On the other hand, in the field of thermal printers, as disclosed in Japanese Unexamined Patent Publication No. 15152/1982, two heating elements parallel to each other are provided in a thermal (thermal recording) head. A method has been proposed in which a clear print pattern is obtained by heating the same part of thermal paper twice using a heat-sensitive paper.
Therefore, it is conceivable to adopt the above configuration in thermal transfer printers as well, but this would require the adoption of a complex drive circuit at the same time. The reality is that even if thermal transfer is performed twice on the same location on paper, a clear print pattern cannot always be obtained, and the print quality cannot necessarily be improved.

In view of these conventional problems, it is an object of the present invention to make it possible to obtain a clear printed pattern with excellent dot reproducibility, even if, for example, the image receiving paper has low smoothness.

<Means for solving the problem> In order to achieve such an object, the present invention includes the following steps:
The printer is equipped with a thermal printing head, and by heating a transfer film interposed between the thermal printing head and the image-receiving paper, the ink on the transfer film is transferred to the image-receiving paper, and a desired image is printed on the image-receiving paper. In a recording method of a thermal transfer printer that prints a pattern, the thermal printing head has a pair of convex heating element rows formed by arranging a plurality of heating elements in a row at front and rear positions in the printing progress direction. The transfer film is arranged in a parallel state with a predetermined distance between them, and the transfer film has a structure in which the ink layer is thicker than the base material, and the transfer film is heated by a row of heating elements in the front stage of the thermal printing head. to form a first printed pattern on the image receiving paper, and heat the transfer film with the heating element row at the latter stage to form a pattern on the first printed pattern that is the same as a part or all of the first printed pattern. This method is characterized in that printing is performed by forming second printing patterns in an overlapping manner.

As shown in FIG. 2, the thermal printing head 1 includes:
A pair of convex heating element rows 6 and 7, which are formed by arranging a plurality of heating elements 5 in a row, are arranged at predetermined intervals at front and back positions in the printing progress direction (direction of arrow A) on the substrate 8. The thermal print head 1 is arranged in a spaced apart parallel manner and is slid along the printing progress direction A across the image receiving paper 3 by operation of a sliding means provided not shown. For each of the two heating element rows 6 and 7 provided in this thermal printing head 1, the heat generated by each heating element row 6 and 7 alone is sufficient to form a desired printing pattern. This amount of power is supplied by energization from a heat generating drive means (not shown).

As shown in FIG. 3, the transfer film 4 is formed by impregnating a thicker ink layer, for example, a reticular layer 10, with a hot-melt ink 11 on a thin base material 9. A so-called multi-time ink ribbon is used.

In a thermal transfer printer having such a configuration, ink on the transfer film 4 is transferred to the image receiving paper 3 by heating the transfer film 4 interposed between the thermal printing head 1 and the image receiving paper 3 with the thermal printing head 1. Then, a desired pattern is printed on the image receiving paper 3. At this time, first, a first print pattern is formed on the image receiving paper 3 by the heating element array 6 in the previous stage. 1st
The lower the smoothness of the image-receiving paper 3, the less clear the overall print pattern becomes. Therefore, in the present invention, the transfer film 4 is heated by the heat generating element row 7 in the latter stage.
Printing is performed by overlappingly forming a second printing pattern having the same pattern as part or all of the first printing pattern on the printing pattern.

At this time, since the heating element rows 6 and 7 located at the front stage and the rear stage are provided with a predetermined distance from each other, there is no heat transfer between these heating element rows 6 and 7. This is the same as providing an insulating space to prevent negative effects. Therefore, there is no possibility that problems such as staining of the printed pattern due to the thermal influence from the other heating element array 7 (6) occurring during printing by one heating element array 6 (7) will occur.

Therefore, since the first print pattern and the second print pattern are formed overlappingly at the same location on the image receiving paper 3, it is possible to finally obtain a clear print pattern even on the image receiving paper 3 with low smoothness. I can do it. In addition, in this case, because the transfer film 4 is impregnated with a sufficient amount of ink due to its structure, even if the same part of the transfer film 4 is heated by both the front and rear heating element rows 6 and 7, the front and rear There is almost no difference in the amount of ink transferred between the heating element rows 6 and 7, and therefore there is no need to avoid redundant transfer.

Note that depending on the characteristics of the image-receiving paper 3, the first print pattern may become partially unclear.
In this case, only the unclear portions may be overprinted using the heating element array 7 in the latter stage.

In this embodiment as well, after the first printing pattern is formed on the image receiving paper 3 by the heating element row 6 at the front stage, the transfer film 4 is heated by the heating element row 7 at the rear stage to form the first printing pattern on the first printing pattern. <Effects of the Invention> As described above, according to the present invention, a thermal printing head is provided, and the transfer film interposed between the thermal printing head and the image receiving paper is heated by the thermal printing head. In a recording method for a thermal transfer printer, in which a desired pattern is printed on the image-receiving paper by transferring ink of
Pairs of convex heating element rows are arranged parallel to each other with a predetermined distance apart from each other in the front and rear positions in the printing progress direction, and the transfer film has a structure in which the ink layer is thicker than the base material. , the transfer film is heated by the heating element row at the front stage of the thermal printing head to form a first printing pattern on the image receiving paper, and the transfer film is heated by the heating element row at the rear stage to form the first printing pattern. Since the second printing pattern, which has the same pattern as part or all of the first printing pattern, is formed overlappingly on top of the first printing pattern, it is possible to print clearly even when printing on receiving paper with low smoothness and rough paper surface. It is possible to obtain a unique printing pattern and maintain a high level of printing quality. Furthermore, while the second printing pattern is being formed on the first printing pattern by the heating element row in the latter stage, the first printing pattern of the next digit is simultaneously formed by the heating element row in the preceding stage. Therefore, it is possible to print at the same printing speed as in the conventional one-time printing. Furthermore, since the same location on the transfer film can be used for printing in both the front and rear rows of heating elements, a complicated transfer film transport mechanism to avoid redundant transfer is not required. Therefore, excellent effects such as miniaturization and improved operability can be achieved.
