A synthetic resin corrugated pipe with spiral protrusions formed on its outer periphery is lightweight and easy to handle, and since the protrusions function as reinforcing ribs, it is strong against external pressure and can be cut easily. Because of these characteristics, in recent years it has been used as buried pipes such as sewage pipes.

This idea was created in view of the above problems.
By using the peaks provided on the corrugated pipe, that is, the spiral or ring-shaped protrusions, it is possible to reliably maintain the watertightness of the connection part.
Moreover, even if the watertightness of the connection part is lost after connection, it is an object of the present invention to provide a connection structure for corrugated pipes that allows the location of water leakage to be accurately identified and repairs to be easily performed.

The corrugated pipe connection structure according to the present invention has a corrugated pipe connection that has alternating peaks and valleys, and has a sealed space sealed by a bottom wall where the peaks are integrally formed on the same plane as the valleys. In this structure, the ends of two corrugated pipes that are connected to each other are butted together through a packing material, and from the side wall of the crest near the end of one of the pipes, a wall is inserted so as to be approximately perpendicular to the crest. A threaded rod is inserted into the side wall of the crest of the other tube, and nuts are screwed onto both ends of the rod and tightened.

According to the above configuration, the peaks of the two corrugated pipes connected to each other have a sealed space sealed by the bottom wall integrally formed on the same plane as the valley, and the ends of the two corrugated pipes are connected to each other. While abutting each other through a packing material, insert a threaded rod from the side wall of the crest near the end of one pipe to the side wall of the crest of the other pipe so as to be approximately perpendicular to the crest. Since nuts are screwed onto both ends of the rod and tightened, the packing material is pressed from both pipe ends, thereby preventing water leakage from the connecting portion. Moreover, since the rod and the nuts at both ends are tightened on the side wall of the peak, the work can be done while visually checking the condition of the connection end surface, and troubles such as the connection part coming off do not occur. Furthermore, even if a water leak were to occur, since no connection sockets are used, the location of the water leak can be immediately identified and repairs can be easily performed. Also, since it is connected by the packing material, rod and nut,
Problems such as the connecting pipe not being able to fit into the joint due to the size of the pipe diameter of the joint such as a socket, or conversely being too large, do not occur.

The corrugated pipes 1 and 2 shown in the figure have a double wall structure integrally comprising an inner wall trough 4 having a smooth inner surface and an outer wall having a spiral crest 3.
It has a sealed space sealed by a bottom wall integrally formed on the same surface as the bottom wall, and is continuously molded from synthetic resin such as high-density polyethylene resin. The corrugated pipe 1 and the corrugated pipe 2 are in a state where their ends are butted against each other, and a packing material 7 is interposed between them. The packing material is made of synthetic rubber, natural rubber, or soft synthetic resin, and has flexibility and appropriate elasticity.

Reference numeral 5 denotes a threaded rod, which is inserted into the side wall of the crest of the tube 1. 6 is a nut screwed onto the rod. The rod and nut are preferably made of rust-proofed metal. The rods and nuts must be tightened at at least two locations around the circumference of the corrugated pipe, preferably at three to six locations at equal intervals.

Here, to explain the procedure for connecting two corrugated pipes, first check to see if the cut surfaces of the corrugated pipes that are butted against each other are cut straight, and then check by butting the ends of the pipes together in advance. Then, cut and adjust the tube so that it fits almost exactly. Then, drill two or three holes from the ends of both tubes. At this time, care must be taken to match the positions of the holes in both tubes. Also, the hole on the side of the peak should be positioned slightly outside the middle height of the peak so that the nut does not touch the valley.
Be careful not to tighten the nut too much if it is too far out as the crest will bend and the nut will not tighten properly.

If the packing material is larger than the diameter of the trough of the tube, a hole is also drilled in the packing material at the same position as the hole in the tube. First, the rods 5, 5 are inserted into one end of the pipe, nuts 6, 6 are screwed onto the respective rods 5, 5, and the rods 5, 5 are inserted into the other corrugated pipe with the packing material 7 interposed. 5, and screw the ends together with nuts 6, 6. Then, tighten the nuts at both ends toward the center in a well-balanced manner, and when the packing material is compressed at both tube ends, the work is complete.

FIG. 2 is a partially enlarged sectional view showing a state in which the threaded rod is inserted into the crest. A packing material 7 is interposed between the corrugated pipes 1 and 2, and the rod body 5
is the one that penetrates the side wall of the mountain portion 3 of the tube. A washer 16 of uneven thickness is attached to the nut 6 screwed onto the rod 5 to prevent the side wall of the crest from being dented. This washer 16 also serves to adjust the crest of the rod as it is not necessarily perpendicular to the rod.

Further, in the above embodiment, the corrugated pipe has a spiral peak, but the connection structure of the present invention can be applied not only to a pipe having a spiral peak, but also to a pipe with a ring-shaped peak. It can be adopted.

As described above, the crests of each of the two corrugated pipes have a sealed space sealed by a bottom wall in which the crests and troughs are formed integrally on the same plane as the ridges. Since the threaded rod is inserted into the side wall of the pipe and tightened with nuts at both ends, the connection work is easy and simple. Since the compressed state of the interposed packing material can be visually observed and the optimal connection state can be created while making adjustments, it is possible to reliably prevent water leakage.

In addition, in the conventional structure in which connections are made using sockets, etc., if water leaks from the connection, the location of the leak cannot be determined unless the socket is removed, making repairs extremely troublesome. However, the connection structure of the present invention has the advantage that even if water leaks, it can be immediately confirmed from which position in the connection the water is leaking, so repair work can be carried out extremely easily.

Another advantage is that the connection work can be easily performed with a small number of members such as the rod, nut, and packing material.
Moreover, once connected, it can be used for a long time.
Depending on the thickness of the crest, the connection structure also has the advantage of being durable even when used as a pipe under water pressure.
