Abstract

PURPOSE:To always maintain the brightness of the peak of a lamp by controlling a cooling fan by a temp. sensor which measures the temp. of the tube of the lamp. CONSTITUTION:The temp. sensor 2 which measures the tube temp. of the lamp 1 is disposed and the temp. data thereof is taken into an arithmetic circuit which executes prescribed computation and controls the rotating speed of the cooling fan 3. The generation of a decrease in illuminance by environmental conditions, the integrated lighting time of the lamp, the temp. rise or drop of the lamp tube by the contamination of a dustproofing filter fixed to the fan, etc., is obviated and the brightness of the peak of the lamp is maintained at all times. The bright videos are thus maintained.

[Problems to be Solved by the Invention] However, among lamps that are light sources, the temperature of the lamp tube changes depending on the cooling conditions of the lamp tube, which causes a change in the amount of light emitted from the lamp. Conventional cooling devices for such lamps have a problem in that it is difficult to maintain the brightness of the lamp at its peak. The present invention is intended to solve these problems. The purpose of the present invention is to measure the temperature of the tube part of the lamp so that the tube temperature remains constant at the temperature at which the amount of light emitted by the lamp is maximum. The present invention provides a cooling device that controls the rotational speed of a cooling fan motor.

[Means for Solving the Problems] The projection type liquid crystal display device of the present invention has six transmissive liquid crystal panels, each of which is illuminated with light of the three primary colors of red, green, and blue. A display device that combines and projects images from a panel includes a temperature sensor that measures the tube temperature of the lamp that is the light source, and an arithmetic circuit that controls the rotation speed of the lamp cooling fan motor by taking in and calculating that data. , and the lamp cooling fan described above.

[Embodiment] FIG. 1 is a layout diagram of a cooling device in an embodiment of the present invention, and the tube temperature of the lamp 1 is measured by a temperature sensor 2 attached to the reflector of the lamp 1. After the measured data is processed by an arithmetic circuit composed of a microphone and the like, the driving voltage of the motor of the cooling fan 6 is determined and lamp cooling is performed.

FIG. 6 is a layout diagram of the optical system in an embodiment of the present invention, in which the light beam emitted from the lamp 1 is transmitted to the blue reflecting dichroic mirror 5. The red-reflecting dichroic mirror 6 separates the three primary colors of red, green, and blue, which are transmitted through the red, green, and blue transmissive liquid crystal panels 8, 9, and 10, and then reflected in the red-reflecting dichroic mirror 11. The red and blue reflection dichroic mirrors 12 combine the images, and the projection lens 1zI projects the images onto a screen or the like.
